Hi! I’m Ally, and I’m the founder of Mambo Video. We’re your Glasgow-based video production company of choice for projects of all sizes!
I’ve been working in the film and video production industry professionally since 2010, and my work was recognised with a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award nomination for editing in 2015. I’m passionate about video projects of all kinds, but I especially love to work with third sector organisations.
I grew up on a nature reserve in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland, before moving to Tanzania in East Africa, where my father was working on a conservation project. I think my upbringing has blessed me with a natural curiosity for travel, and especially for the outdoors which I adore.
I’ve always really loved films that are about real people, with real stories. I think that film is a medium that allows us to really capture the character of a particular place and time. It combines so many different flavours - the sights, the colours, the sounds, the music - of an experience.
I believe that storytelling in video has the power to inspire change, to inform, to move us, and to make us feel connected to one another. It feels like a particularly important moment in history to recognise this fact. I’m really excited to work every day on creating video that helps to move the needle for businesses small and large. It’s a diverse, challenging, and constantly exciting line of work.
I’m lucky enough to be supported by an exceptional crew with a diverse range of skills, and so I’m able to scale projects up and down to suit the production scope required. This means we’re able to undertake work of all types, from a full production crew to a one man band. It’s richly rewarding to be able to create impactful work that helps businesses and charity organisations further their cause.
